چکیده

${\mathrm{Co}}_{2}$-based Heusler compounds are promising materials for spintronics applications due to their high Curie temperature, large spin polarization, magnetization density, and exotic transport properties. In the present paper, we report anomalous Hall effect (AHE) in a polycrystalline ${\mathrm{Co}}_{2}\mathrm{FeAl}$ compound using combined experimental theoretical studies. The Rietveld analysis of high-resolution synchrotron x-ray diffraction data reveals degree $(\ensuremath{\sim}50%)$ antisite disorder between Fe Al atoms. provides conductivity (AHC) about 227 S/cm at 2 K with an intrinsic contribution 155 S/cm, which has nearly constant variation temperature. detailed scaling resistivity suggests that AHE is governed by Berry phase driven mechanism. Our calculations reveal enhances curvature induced AHC.

Berry-phase effect in anomalous thermoelectric transport.

We develop a theory of the Berry-phase effect in anomalous transport in ferromagnets driven by statistical forces such as the gradient of temperature or chemical potential. Here a charge Hall current arises from the Berry-phase correction to the orbital magnetization rather than from the anomalous velocity, which does not exist in the absence of a mechanical force. A finite-temperature formula ...

Berry phase mechanism of the anomalous Hall effect in a disordered two-dimensional magnetic semiconductor structure

The anomalous Hall effect (AHE) arises from the interplay of spin-orbit interactions and ferromagnetic order and is a potentially useful probe of electron spin polarization, especially in nanoscale systems where direct measurement is not feasible. While AHE is rather well-understood in metallic ferromagnets, much less is known about the relevance of different physical mechanisms governing AHE i...

Large anomalous Hall e ect in a half - Heusler antiferromagnet

The quantum mechanical (Berry) phase of the electronic wavefunction plays a critical role in the anomalous and spin Hall e ects, including their quantized limits. While progress has been made in understanding these e ects in ferromagnets, less is known in antiferromagnetic systems. Here we present a study of antiferromagnet GdPtBi, whose electronic structure is similar to that of the topologica...

Topological Hall effect and Berry phase in magnetic nanostructures.

We discuss the anomalous Hall effect in a two-dimensional electron gas subject to a spatially varying magnetization. This topological Hall effect does not require any spin-orbit coupling and arises solely from Berry phase acquired by an electron moving in a smoothly varying magnetization. We propose an experiment with a structure containing 2D electrons or holes of diluted magnetic semiconducto...
